Born in Estonia to a fully Russian-speaking family, Morozova has often found themselves navigating the complexities of two cultural identities. Growing up caught between two nationalities, they struggled to find a sense of belonging, a challenge that many in similar situations face. For years, this internal conflict created a desire to escape—a belief that they did not fully belong to either cultural space. Over time, Morozova took deliberate steps to integrate into Estonian society, and through determination, they overcame the urge to run away.
However, with the onset of recent global conflicts, those old feelings of shame and isolation resurfaced, reigniting that familiar sense of displacement. The urge to leave re-emerged, along with a longing to disconnect from their origins, as if leaving behind their pain and identity. But instead of fleeing, they turned to painting as a form of expression and reconciliation.
