Linda Ciesielski is a Bachelor degree student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Helsinki, Finland, working in various media including sculpture, sound, print, moving image and text. Her choice of media often reinforce the concepts behind her work, focusing on natural and human-made systems, including language and culture.
Linda’s work has been shown in group exhibitions at Graphica Creativa International Print Triennial (2019, Jyväskylä Art Museum), Academy of Fine Arts Exhibition Laboratory Gallery (2019, Helsinki, Finland), Boston Society of Architects (2014), MIT Rotch Library (2011, Cambridge, MA, USA), In-Between Arada-Tra, Istanbul, Turkey (2010), Solar Decathlon Competition, Washington D.C. Mall (2005), and the Everson Museum of Art in Syracuse, New York, USA (2004). She was a second round finalist in a public art competition for Jorvi Hospital in Espoo, Finland (2018), a recipient of two Council for the Arts Grants at MIT, and funding for research in New Delhi, India. Linda holds a Master degree in City Planning from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (2011), where she worked on climate change planning in Florida, and wrote her thesis on the power of maps in regional environmental planning in Toronto, Canada. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Landscape Architecture, Magna Cum Laude, from Cornell University, where she received an Honor Award for Undergraduate Study from the American Society of Landscape Architects-NY State Chapter (2005).
