Studying at the Art Academy of Latvia helped me develop a strong foundation in the arts. The creative environment has brought my understanding of art to a new level. As an evolving young artist, I have a keen interest in varied types of artistic expressions. I do believe that contemporary art is a synthesis of different art genres. Studying fine arts has allowed me to feel free and intuitive in painting and drawing. The opportunity to gain experience studying at a foreign universities (Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts, University of the Basque Country) expanded my horizons, let me live and breathe another culture, increased my knowledge and determined for myself a common transcultural field from which I could draw new ideas for my work. I believe that the essence of art is that in its highest manifestation it is global – it surpasses all cultural and all human boundaries and transcends time and space. I had an opportunity to participate in several exhibitions, competitions and performances. In 2021 my artwork was shortlisted for the finals of transnational art contest “Inter-art experience: Latvia and the USA 1945-1991”. In 2020, I had the honour to participate in a group exhibition Inside Out at the Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre. In the same year, my photographs were accepted for the exhibition Existence, Chapter 2: Traces in the Octagon, HfBK Dresden Art Gallery. I also gained a great experience through participating in various performances in different Latvian contemporary art spaces, such as Pedvale Art Park, Tallinas Kvartals, The Art Museum Riga Bourse, Kometa Festival etc.
