Waiting Game, 2025

Stadium seats, steel and id-badge
The chairs, taken from a sports arena, evoke waiting, togetherness, and the anticipation of something about to unfold. The ID badge placed just out of reach points to a system in which identity must be scrutinized. I have been reflecting on what it means to exist in a state of institutionalized waiting—where power structures determine who must wait, and why. A condition where personal agency is limited, and external forces govern one’s possibilities. But waiting is not only about endurance. It can also be a form of resistance, a strategy. Like the chairs facing the playing field, the work gestures toward something imminent—an inevitable shift, a moment when stillness may turn into movement.
