Vittra, 2025
Silver gelatin prints, screen print & metal objects
When my grandfather passed away, a man I never had the chance to meet, I began working on the project Vittra. The project explores both my heritage and the invisible trauma that follows through generations. Vittra is a photographic installation about people without a documented legacy, those who were never part of society, who were erased after their death. Through hand-printed analog photographs of dead insects, people, and cacti, questions arise about memory, erasure, and ecological loss. Fragments from a letter written by my grandfather run as a common thread throughout the work, reflecting on biodiversity and loneliness. The work was first exhibited during the graduation exhibition Reflektor.
