Plaster

“Tiina” is a part of a series “Beauty has no restrictions”. Sometimes the elements that are criticized in the human body are interesting and beautiful in art. But what is beauty? Do beauty and ideality exist? This is the beginning of a series of plaster torsos that tell how each body is beautiful and interesting just as it is, both in art and in real life. They must not be criticized, but respected, because they show the life they have lived. To bring torsos to life, they have the names of their models and in both text and audio the models stories of living in their bodies. Tiina talks about her life as two periods, before and after her back surgery. She has scoliosis and that means that her back is bended to one side. She is a positive person, so she says both positive and negative things about living in that body. She says she can’t love her body, but accepts it as it is, because thanks to her body, she can exist.
