wool

The Estonian woman is strong. The Estonian woman is rooted. Her roots dig deep into the Estonian soil, like the ancient juniper trees of the islands—no force can tear them away. She stands grounded, her soul intertwined with the land, her spirit nourished by its rawness. Like the foremothers before her, she carries the weight of tradition with grace. Her back remains straight, just as their backs held steady beneath the weight of striped skirts. These women ate baltic herring and bread, and through the simplest of acts, they stayed true to themselves. In every thread of this wool—undyed, natural, and honest—there is a connection to the past, and connection to the local sheep breeds Anu Raud cherishes so much, both in life and in her work. It is the quiet strength of our foremothers that lives on, as their presence, like the steady pulse of nature, shapes the Estonian woman of today. She does not waver, she is not broken, because she carries the essence of this land within her.
