Laser cut and hand carved mdf, brass plate and screws

Protocol is based on a hand sanitizing instruction from a surgical ward at a hospital in Stockholm, which I documented after waking up from an operation. In my dazed state, I found the instructional images strangely beautiful—perhaps even a little comical. In that moment, they seemed to suggest something beyond hygiene: a sense of prayer, control, and surrender.
