ready-mades, zip-lock bags, packaging of everyday products.

I started collecting all sorts of “useless” things ever since I was a kid. These collections and the mechanical (automatic) drawing which I practiced for some time were the starting points for this project. In my final work, I am focusing on the symbiosis and mutual influences between creator and consumer. An important conceptual starting point for this work was the exceptional „Green Notebook“ (2013) by Algimantas Julijonas Stankevičius-Stankus. I present my collections, which I have piled up over the past year, as art objects – as an accumulated/cultivated “harvest”. I collect household packaging according to a system I have devised and „freeze“ it in zip-lock bags as if it were a clue to contemporary consumption and design. In this way I create a kind of time capsule. I use a playful approach to exaggerate the insignificant and ask questions about value and worth: is it possible to create value from everyday waste? How does context change the material/emotional weight of an object? Re-use is also a very important aspect of my work – resurrecting ephemeral, quickly consumed waste to a second life, changing the context from the domestic to the creative, and thus giving it a new meaning.
