“When I look at my fingers, they remind me of my mother and my childhood. I used to play with her fingers, and they are identical to the ones I have now. Now all I have to do is play with my own fingers.” The painting “Moms fingers” is one of seven additional painting sieries called “Parallels of Memory”. It is an exposition of the artist’s childhood experiences in relationships with her parents. A reflection of the multi-layered reality that is carried over time as a symbol of the care of a fellow human being and the silent struggles of life. The paintings are permeated by sentimentality, introspection and insights gained by looking back on these childhood experiences.
