Work from project ‘Solastalgia’. Solastalgia describes the emotional distress felt when one’s home environment changes irreversibly due to climate change, urbanization, or ecological destruction. Unlike nostalgia, which longs for the past, solastalgia is rooted in the present—an ache for the lost stability of place, belonging, and identity as landscapes degrade and disappear. Work is created using image transfer method on wood transferring artist’s photography on the wooden surface, adding a layer of varnish.
