Infinite Surge, 2026

This project explores relations between music and water. Music has been a constant in my life, and I’ve been playing in bands since 2011. These experiences of performing on stage, recording and releasing records, touring and meeting people across the world have deeply informed my artistic practice in many ways. With this project I want to pay homage to the DIY music scene, and shine a light on the power of music. Music’s potential to shape people, communities, cities, society at large – like water shaping its surroundings, cutting into land. How a DIY music venue becomes a point from which energy emanates, ripples. Kids go to a show, find inspiration to start their own band, becoming their own source of ripples – and inspiration for others to do the same. The work “Infinite Surge” consists of video material from shows across some of my music projects Niboowin, Top 10 Babies, Noll Koll and Concentrate, filmed between 2016 and 2026 in the following locations: Umeå, Göteborg, Stockholm, Överkalix, Luleå, Arvika, Hudiksvall, Røros [NOR], Trondheim [NOR], Berlin [DEU], Prague [CZE], Nürnberg [DEU], Rokycany [CZE], Sofia [BUL], Vienna [AUT], Bratislava [SVK], Novi Marof [CRO], Feltre [ITA], Bologna [ITA], Kutná Hora [CZE], Županja [CRO], Baltimore [MD], Chicago [IL], Iowa City [IO], Rockford [IL], Brooklyn [NY], Muskegon [MI], Milwaukee [WI], Philadelphia [PA], Cincinnati [OH], Indianapolis [IN], Columbus [MO], New Orleans [LA], Tampa [FL], Chattanooga [TN], Dallas [TX], Mount Pleasant [MI] It also includes images of water movements filmed in Umeå, Hönö, Göteborg, Mount Pleasant, Ann Arbor, Chicago and Budapest.
