Plaster
The work Index (2026) consists of four separate plaster reliefs arranged around a doorway. Its initial inspiration comes from architectural figurative relief sculptures found at entrances, typically positioned symmetrically on both sides of a building’s façade. In the final work, however, these figures have transformed into close-up, simplified silhouettes of faces looking toward one another. The work brings together a decorative approach with a bodily mode of representation. It explores repetition and the differences it produces, as well as what remains between repetitions. The word index refers to a physical trace of something that has occurred or existed, which in this work remains only as a silhouette-like imprint.
