In Blue, 2024
215 x 293 cm
monotype on paper Blue colour phenomena, such as the sea or night, were the starting points for this work.
Aesthetically the work alludes to colour theory books and colour charts. I am interested in the bodily sensation of the immersive colours, and the contradiction between the sensations and colour systems. I examine the spatiality and transience of blue, and the feeling of being close and far at the same time. Optical illusions as well as a feeling that the colours are slightly moving and new hues appearing were some of the observations a viewer could make about the work. In Blue was exhibited in BFA graduate show at Kuva/Tila in 2024.
