Photos sent by anonymous readers of the porn magazine “giraffe” published in the 1990s were used as inspiration for the paintings. The series of works invites you to delve into the creative expression of people in the context of Latvians who have just regained their freedom, when during the Soviet occupation, the topic of sex was taboo. Using classical oil painting, the author wants to give these photographs a different quality.
