Tiiu Rebane exhibits her newest works of painting that according to the artist express the painter’s view to the present era.
She has been participating in exhibitions since 1994 when she started her artist’s practice as a photography and installation artist. Then she continued with studies in the department of painting at the Estonian Academy of Arts and MA studies of culture theory in Estonian Institute of Humanities – this formed the basis for practising existential painting and pursuing for realism.
Tiiu Rebane’s main working method lies in the synthesis of the documentary and original mannerism while the artist’s main subjects being space, men and time. She is mainly expressing herself through painting, photography, collage and video. Since 2013 she has curated several exhibitions and art projects. Tiiu Rebane is the project manager of Muhu A.I. Residency of the Estonian Artists’ Association and since 2018 she is the chairwoman of Estonian Painters’ Association. She has collaborated with different authors, for instance Karl-Kristjan Nagel, Prohor Alekseev, Jimi Tenor and several others.
