The permanent exhibition The Future is in One Hour: Estonian Art in the 1990s is focused on the pivotal 1990s in Estonian art. The exhibition examines the new phenomena and art forms that developed during the period of the restoration of independence, and focuses on new media, photo and video art, and installations. The permanent exhibition includes works by several significant and influential artists who gave the 1990s their tenor. The title of the exhibition is derived from a song by the cult band J.M.K.E. and refers to a period of social and cultural change when expectations and hopes were focused on the future.
