In Master thesis various modes of cognition are explored, outlining the four remote communities – those of village, city, network and death. Work is based on ideas and theories of media theorist Marshall McLuhan and fenomenologist Alphonso Lingis as well as personal experiences. This tproject is an investigation on methods of moving through various sensorial and cultural surfaces when encountering information and filtering it. Overviewed possibilities for contemporary closeness and immediacy outline accessible strategies for being, describing civic and private relationships and through which channels can the latter be accessed.
