€2130

Clay, glaze, metal, wires

“Sirens of the Baltic Sea” is a thought- provoking art installation featuring two triple-spherical flutes equipped with attached cooling fans, each boasting an adjustable speed rotator. These unique sound objects are imbued with dual significance. On one level, they embody the mythical sirens of the sea, invoking the allure and mystery associated with maritime folklore. On a more somber note, these sound sirens take on a second meaning, acting as audible signals alerting us to pressing pollution issues. The Baltic Sea, one of the most polluted seas globally. Through this dual narrative, “Sirens of the Baltic Sea” aims to evoke reflection on the intertwined relationship between mythology and the urgent ecological concerns plaguing our seas.
