“Running While Filming” is an intimate and political narrative about queer coming-of-age — a slow, painful, and fragmented process of becoming oneself in a world that initially taught you to hide. The video installation combines various visual layers: archival childhood footage; an animation where gender instructions intertwine with athletic movements; a football scene revealing adolescent experiences of homophobia and the desire to rewrite the past; and screen captures of messages from the artist’s mother after coming out, bearing witness to family rejection and the cost of identity. The act of filming while running becomes both a gesture of resistance and survival — a way to exist even in silence.
