The painting series “Love Goes Through the Stomach” consists of sixteen parts and can be seen both as a single piece and as separate works. It is a visual representation of my memories and my family’s story. During the process of painting my artwork, I explored my family’s traditions and their evolution over time. I interwove different food cultures that I have experienced myself and the emotions that cooking and eating have evoked in me. The painting series “Love Goes Through the Stomach” is primarily a tribute to my family. I really appreciate food customs and family unity because it helps to create and maintain a connection to one’s culture and roots.
