Cast iron
The artwork “In the Mental Space” is a cast iron art object depicting the author’s semantic multi-layered attempts to touch upon long-term memories, which have changed radically in the perception of contemporary human mindset. The creative concept is based on innovative approach to artistic expressiveness and mutual interaction between the existing form and the form that has been shaping itself in the process of casting. The initial form has been transformed into another material thus obtaining a new shape and image of its exsistence in today’s context. The art object is continuing its interaction with an etheral space beyond its form, and at the same time supplementing it with spontaneous ‘plasma eruptions’ in such a way reflecting individual thinking process, where the major part of it cannot be observed reflectively in cognition. The artistic expressiveness of technique encourages to immerse into the stereotypical thinking model of a modern human being separating temporary values from permanent values. Technique has been an impulse for glimpse of what is time, memory and there relativity. It has led to thinking about the issue of cognitive world perception, how a person perceives the world and what it is reality.
