On Thursday evening around 7:30 PM, the emergency dispatch received a report of a man sprawled face-down on a hill behind a courthouse. The caller was too spooked to approach or even check if he was breathing.
Paramedics arrived to find a perfectly healthy 25-year-old who cheerfully announced he neither needed nor wanted their help. When asked why he was lying there, he simply replied, “I was chasing a flying saucer.”
It turned out he’d sampled LSD for the first time and, guided by vivid hallucinations, ended up sunbathing on public property. Despite being in perfect health, he pleaded with the crew to drop him off at the bus station—he was keen to get home.
Obliging his request, the paramedics delivered him to the station and moved on to the next call. Only later did he realize the last bus to his hometown had long since departed—another cosmic punchline courtesy of his own mind.
