In this moving image work, I collage footage from my family’s home movies with scans of printed travel ephemera that I have collected on my travels to reflect on both literal/ geographic and metaphysical notions of distance and place. The script for the work is an original essay or poetic reflection that uses simple indexical words and commands to complicate the viewer’s understanding of time, continuity, chronology, and situatedness.
