Dubuffet buffé, 2025

128 x 106 cm

Oil, pinned paper, stuffed animal and memory on canvas

The work started with a stuffed animal i got from a firend and a poem i wrote 2024: (Translation from swedish) The stuffed-animal world turns its gaze away, looks to the right, looks down, a glance caught in the moment we’ll meet then, and maybe, then, we’ll fall into the now. A color within the painting behind the painting. I could often walk to school and paint, paint until confusion arrived, entering without quite knowing myself or what I was doing. It’s not such a big thing better to think of it that way. It’s chill. Where am I from? A 2000s classroom question, a generational thing, but it bothers me too the boyish swagger. I can’t adapt, don’t want to. It’s a little gross, but also kind of nice. I’ll just run my own, keep at it does it matter? It’s something new, new, new, my own need. To paint textiles, the history of textiles Curtains, embroideries, rugs, pillows, embroideries, bedspreads. The tactile, careful conscience of textiles speaks for itself. We have found ourselves drawn to a repetition of patterns.
