Oil on canvas
The artist´s comment on the artwork:
“This painting is based on a personal family photography of my father’s childhood. As I looked at that photography, I saw it as a strange, unknown fiction and could not see it from a distance because it is personal. It is said that photography is a witness of existence of those who were photographed and to me it is unreliable. I wanted to express this feeling (condition) about personal photographies and give a distance to a sight. Painting media could do that, because it is not directly from reality. Painting is controled by a painter, who is also this theatre director, which plays with these props on canvas like on a stage. An objects or persons captured in photographies becomes scenography of a new performance, which came from personal microstories, experiences, places or times.”
