Artifacts, 2024
silver gelatin print, film photo
In this project I am researching artifacts found in various parts of Lithuania and their connection to the past, present and future. Through these artifacts, I am exploring Lithuania, its history, culture, traditions and peculiarities. I use the traditional method of analog photography printing, but not on photographic paper, but I transfer the image from the film directly onto the objects, using liquid photographic emulsion. In this way, I turn ordinary garbage into works of art that tell stories. The goal of my research is not only creative research. Technical experiments are no less important to me. Therefore, in my project, I use unique printing technologies that have not yet been introduced by artists in Lithuania. The project was exhibited at the Academy of Arts in Vilnius, at the GODO Gallery in Vilnius, at the Analogue Photography Festival in Vilnius
