Yuko Kinouchi

Artist's country of origin: Estonia

Yuko Kinouchi is a visual artist based in Tallinn and Tokyo. Using low-tech mechanical art, video, painting, and installation, she creates fictional frameworks or documents experimental actions through sociological and environmental research. Due to her interest in posthuman theory, she set a research theme on zombies as non-humans.


After graduating from Tama Art University in Japan, she participated in the exhibition Nakanojo Biennale in 2017 and Tamabi Nihonga DNA in 2021, and residencies Koganecho Artist in Residence in Yokohama, Japan, KulttuuriKauppila AiR in Ii, Finland, in 2019. In 2025, she finished her studies for a master’s in contemporary art at the Estonian Academy of Arts in Tallinn, Estonia.
