Vitor Romão de Oliveira Pascale Emerging artist

My artistic practice is rooted in the interconnection with materials, process, research and conceptual exploration. I am driven by a desire to reflect on the relationships between memory, identity, and the borders between urban and private sites in the context of queer experiences. Through sculptural and installation work, I have been working on reimagining playgrounds and intimate domestic spaces as sites of freedom and performance, where normative structures can be suspended, and queer identity emerges in fluid ways. I conceptualize the playground as a space of transformation, where the act of play creates temporary worlds. At the same time, I consider the significance of enclosed, intimate environments. Hidden corners, domestic interiors, where queer individuals navigate safety, memory, and belonging. I build spaces that blur inside and outside, the real and the imagined. I look to the past, to the coded gestures, hidden sites, queer history and to the present, where for me the notion of play represents an act of resistance and remembering.
