Artist is based in: Estonia
Tiina Kaljuste (1969) graduated from the Ceramics Department of the Estonian Academy of Arts in 1995. Although more than thirty years have passed since then, clay remains her primary medium of expression – once fired, it transforms into ceramic, a material notable for its durability and permanence. Over the years, her practice has included numerous group and joint exhibitions, around ten symposia, and more than a dozen solo exhibitions in Estonia and abroad. In 2015, she received a jury commendation at the 14th Ceramic Biennale in Andenne, Belgium. She has also created two fire sculptures – one in Užventis, Lithuania (2024) and the other in Jelgava, Latvia (2023). Kaljuste is a member of the Estonian Ceramists’ Association and the Estonian Artists’ Association.
