Sofija Laurušonytė Emerging artist

Artist is based in: Lithuania

Sofija Laurušonytė (b. 2002) has graduated in Photography, Animation, and Media Art at the Vilnius Academy of Arts. In her work, she articulates feminist issues such as female identity, the body, and gender based violence. Her practice primarily utilizes moving images created using animation technologies. She experiments with organic and dynamic forms, transforming animation into a tool for critical discourse that sensitively addresses complex themes. In her installations, she explores the incorporation of sculptural objects. Her work has been shown in group exhibitions in gallery Atletika (Lithuania, 2025), Mediaramos, (VAA Titanikas, Lithuania, 2023) and experimental short films screened in Bienalle Chroniques (France, 2024) and Suspaustas laikas (MO Museum Lithuania, 2024). Besides that she collaborates on various projects with professional artists such as Laura Kutkaitė, Gintarė Valevičiūtė-Brazauskienė, and others.
