Siiri Korhonen Emerging artist

Siiri Korhonen is finishing up their MFA studies on sculpture at the Helsinki Academy of Fine Arts. They have a previous degree of an artisan silversmith, and started their art studies in Limingan Taidekoulu, Northern Finland. They explore themes such as identity, belonging and subculture history, often combining traditional craftsmanship with recycled materials, contemporary subjects and keen spatial understanding. They have exhibited in group shows in Finland, including in Suomen Käsityön Museo, Stockfors art fair and Ars Kärsämäki. Their MFA work received the Anita Snellman foundation stipend.
