Sara Marija Nudina (b. 2000) is a Latvian visual artist whose practice explores contemporary forms of expression through imagery, space, and material. The main inspiration for her artworks comes from books and films that explore human transformation and the boundaries where it begins to fragment. Humanoid figures often appear in her paintings, set in melancholic or transitional environments—like a fleeting step into a nearby parallel reality. She is drawn to the gaze and static moments that reveal hidden emotions. The aim of her artwork is to give the viewer a sense of presence, not quite seen– from the corner of your eye see, the unseen standing nearby ; to get to know someone you do not yet know ; to look directly into another’s eyes and not turn away.
