For the past two years, Milda Paukštė has been exploring the concept of the stain in consumer society while studying Textile Art and Design at the Vilnius Academy of Arts. Her final thesis project — the exhibition “Stain” — combined textile artworks, performances, and video pieces, and was presented at the Užupis Art Incubator gallery in Vilnius. Her written thesis, “Stainosophy: The Concept and Meaning of the Stain in Consumer Society,” was recognized as the best master’s thesis at the Vilnius Academy of Arts and awarded the Dr. Ieva Pleikienė Prize. Previously, Milda Paukštė completed both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Communication at Vilnius University. She is actively involved in the field of environmental protection, with a strong interest in pollution reduction, textile reuse, ecological and community-based fashion. She participates in group exhibitions and organizes performances.
