Maris Karjatse is an Estonian artist and translator who lives and works in Tallinn. As an artist she has mainly worked with photographic and linguistic means of expression and focused on themes of consolation, philosophy of things, mother-and-daughter relationship and folding of an image. She has held two solo exhibition and participated in several group exhibitions in Estonia. Maris Karjatse has obtained MA degree in contemporary art and BA degree in photography at the Estonian Academy of Arts, she has also studied English philology and works as a freelance translator, mainly focusing on art-related texts.
