Mari Frühling graduated from Pallas University of Applied Sciences with a Bachelor´s Degree in Painting in 2025. During the years between 2012 to 2021, she lived and worked in Alberta, Canada. She is the laureate of the Hotel Pallas Painting Scholarship 2024 and presented solo exhibition at the Tartu Art House, titled “Shared Space”.
Her photorealistic paintings main motifs are monochrome human figures juxtaposed with contrasting surfaces of color. She also likes to explore with compositional shifts and contrasting elements.
As an artist, human rights and animal rights activist Mari Frühling tries to apply same principles also to her painting practices. Therefore, she is motivated to find the most ethical alternatives to art supplies that contain animal-derived ingredients and chooses to use vegan-labeled, water-mixable oil paints and synthetic brushes.
