Maret Suurmets Kuura

Maret Suurmets Kuura (born in 1982) is an Estonian painter and art teacher based in Tartu. She graduated from the University of Tartu in 2004 with a degree in painting and subsequently obtained a master’s degree in art education.

Since 2000, Suurmets Kuura has participated in various group and solo exhibitions across Estonia, including at the Jõhvi City Gallery, Võru City Gallery, and Tartu Art House.

She is a member of the Tartu Artists’ Union and the Estonian Painters’ Association.

Her work is characterized by vibrant colors and abstract compositions that reflect a positive and optimistic outlook on life. In recent years, she has focused on geometric forms and lines, incorporating mathematical angles and lines into her creations.

In addition to her artistic practice, Suurmets Kuura works as an art instructor, leading acrylic painting courses at the Tartu Folk University.
