Lotta Karoliina Räsänen

Artist is based in: Finland

Lotta Karoliina Räsänen (b. 1990) is a Finnish sculptor and multidisciplinary artist whose practice combines personal bodily representation with collective performative work. Their work is guided by an exploratory and emotion-centered approach that focuses on the borderlands of the human psyche and feelings living in the body. Their artistic language is playful and cross-media, drawing on psychoanalysis and the philosophy of women’s writing (écriture féminine). Räsänen graduated from the Pallas Art College in sculpture (BA, 2025) and is continuing her studies at the Estonian Academy of Arts in the Master’s program in contemporary art. They have had solo exhibitions as well as several group exhibitions in Estonia, Finland and Germany, including the annual exhibitions of the Tartu Art House and the group exhibition “Generation 2020” organized by Amos Rex. Currently they are working on a multidisciplinary performance installation happening in a train as part of ANTI-Contemporary Art Festival in Kuopio, Finland.
