Still life, black squares, shadows, and vignettes are motifs often treated as flat — whether in painting, drawing, or photography. For example, still life serves as a tool for painting, yet the physical materiality of the composition is rarely considered.

I’m interested in how these flat, smooth motifs can be reimagined in a spatial context. More broadly, my work explores the translation of one medium into another — how certain elements and visual clichés shift when they take on a new form. This curiosity is what led me to create sculpture based on images, particularly from paintings.
