Artist's country of origin: Finland

Lempi Heiskanen is a Finnish painter working mainly with oil painting and paper based techniques. She is fascinated by shifting light, karaoke, ants, and the passage of time. Her artistic practice is based on hands-on doing and slow findings. The concrete act of painting, following the paths of colors, forms and gestures, being present with the surface, is in the centre of her work. Heiskanen is currently doing her Master’s degree at the Academy of Fine Arts, Helsinki.
