Laura Liventaal (b. 1988) is an artist and director who mainly works in the field of sculpture, installation, performance, photography, video and documentary film. She studied philosophy at Tallinn University (BA 2012, MA 2016), in 2020 she graduated from the Baltic Film and Media School with the experimental short documentary “How To Be Naked”, which premiered at the Black Nights Film Festival in Tallinn. From 2021 she is studying contemporary art MA at the Estonian Academy of Arts and 2022-2023 she was an exchange student in the art-espace department of ENSAD Paris. Liventaal has participated in exhibitions and festivals in Estonia, Finland, Sweden and France. Her central themes are body perception, tactility, intimacy and the role of women in modern complexity, she also addresses mental health issues through a psychoanalytic prism.
