Kalliopi Akonidou Emerging artist

Kalliopi Akonidou is a Greek visual artist whose practice is rooted in drawing and painting, often engaging with urgent ecological and social themes. She holds an Integrated Master of Fine Arts in Painting from the School of Visual and Applied Arts at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, which she completed in February 2022. In May 2025, she earned a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) from Umeå Academy of Fine Arts in Sweden.
Akonidou has participated in several exhibitions across Europe, including “Infinite Proposals” (2025), the MFA graduation exhibition at Bildmuseet in Umeå, and “Room to Rhyme” (2024) at Alva Gallery. Her solo shows include “Climate Change” (2024) at Konsthögskolan Gallery in Umeå and a degree exhibition of the same title in Thessaloniki (2022).
Her work is held in private collections, including “Trapped” (2022) and “Deforestation” (2023), both part of her ongoing series addressing environmental concerns through expressive charcoal drawings.
