Inessa Saarits

Artist's country of origin: Estonia

Inessa Saarits is most interested in natural materials that change over time – peat, soil, jelly and mushrooms. She works with the relationship between man and nature, and uses public space and performative elements in her practice. Saarits is a member of the performance group TEMA, young artists union ENKKL and is a founding member of the youth art event "Kunstikompott". She has participated in group exhibitions in Estonia, Austria and the Czech Republic and recently had solo exhibitions "Remembering a place I haven't been" in 2024 and "Total Jellification" in 2023. Inessa Saarits graduated Estonian Academy of Arts in Installation and Sculpture department and has furthered her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna.
