Ieva Penčilaitė

Artist is based in: Lithuania

Ieva Penčilaitė is a graduate of the Vilnius Academy of Arts, specializing in Textile Art and Design. Her artistic practice lies at the intersection of textile, memory, and contemporary media, often merging traditional techniques with digital technologies and conceptual installations. She explores themes such as collective memory, domesticity, and the transformation of everyday materials into emotionally resonant narratives.

Penčilaitė has participated in numerous exhibitions and creative initiatives that have shaped her artistic identity. Her final bachelor’s project, presented at the Graduation Show 2025, examined the visual and emotional dimensions of the red-eye effect in photography, translating it into a multi-sensory textile installation. Key exhibitions include Drobės rezonansas(2024) and Belieka tik laukti (2024), both of which engaged with the aesthetics of waiting and temporality. She has also taken part in international artistic research programs and residencies, including the Venice Biennale (2024), the Łódź Textile Triennial (2023), and Nida Art Colony, where she developed collaborative projects and expanded her engagement with global textile discourse.
