Helena Pass Emerging artist

Helena Pass

Artist's country of origin: Estonia

Helena Pass is an artist and illustrator based in Tallinn, Estonia. Her practice combines drawing and printmaking, with drawing serving as her primary tool for artistic research. She often brings together visual documentation in the form of artist books, which she values for their ability to convey both structure and intimacy. Through a mix of observational methods — including drawing, photography, found materials, and interviews — she explores peripheral and transitional environments. Her ongoing interest lies in the relationship between humans and nature, whether in spaces at risk of disappearing, such as dacha communities, or in interspecies relationships, such as those between humans and horses.

Helena holds a bachelor’s degree in graphic arts from the Estonian Academy of Arts and a degree in photography from Pallas University of Applied Sciences. She has also complemented her studies in Prague, Czech Republic, and Plymouth, UK. She received the Young Artists Award at the TASE’25 diploma work exhibition at the Estonian Academy of Arts.
