Gintarė Urmonaitė (b. 1997) is an interdisciplinary artist who lives and works in Vilnius, Lithuania. Her artistic practice is based on the comprehensive connection between nature and culture. By observing water and other natural elements, she aims to highlight relevant contemporary issues and the ecological and cultural challenges we are increasingly facing today. She employs different media in her practice, ranging from traditional painting to elements of contemporary sculpture and installation art. Various environmental elements and everyday technological setups are incorporated into her artwork. Process and materiality are essential components of her work, and by combining different modes of expression, materials, and sensory elements, she aims to create a lively dialogue that conveys the interaction between humans and the environment.
