Elo-Mai Mägi

Artist's country of origin: Estonia

Elo-Mai Mägi (born in 1989) has bachelor’s degrees in semiotics and painting, and a master’s degree in painting from the University of Tartu, additionally studied painting and textile printing in Strzemiński Academy of Art Łódź, Poland as part of the ERASMUS+ programme. Her main medium is oil and acrylic painting. She is interested in and inspired by philosophy and psychology, more specifically emotional states, mental deviances or more generally – of being a human or humane, and the normalities. The main subjects of her works are psychological (self)portraits and abstracted figures. Belongs to Estonian Painters’ Union (since 2014), Tartu Artists’ Union (since 2017) and Estonian Authors’ Society (since 2017).
