Artist's country of origin: Estonia
Asmus Soodla (b. 2003) is a contemporary artist and art worker based in Tallinn, Estonia. He studied installation and sculpture (BA 2025) and architecture (Open Academy course 2022) at the Estonian Academy of Arts and has undertaken short-term studies in Poland, Czechia, Finland, Canada, and Ghana.
Soodla’s practice explores how humans organise space and how the traces they leave behind reflect underlying patterns of thought and behaviour. Working across various media, he investigates the dynamics between thought, body, object, and space.
He has held three solo exhibitions at Uus Rada gallery, ArtDepoo gallery, and SOPP project space, and has been nominated twice for the Estonian Young Sculptor Award. His practice also extends into public space, with a permanent commissioned work installed in Tallinn’s Rotermann Quarter.
