Anette Laius

Artist is based in: Estonia

Anette Laius (2001) is a photographic artist who graduated from the Pallas University of Applied Sciences in Tartu in 2025, specializing in photography with a strong focus on portraiture. Through her work, Laius seeks to capture the true nature and natural state of a person, creating warm and emotionally resonant imagery that invites genuine connection between subject and viewer.

Her style is rooted primarily in digital photography, though her creative vision expanded during her final thesis project, where she developed a strong interest in installation art. This discovery opened a new direction in her practice—one that combines photography with spatial and immersive elements to deepen the viewer’s emotional engagement.

Laius’s work revolves around the human presence in its most honest form. She strives to create portraits that feel intimate and unposed, emphasizing authenticity, vulnerability, and emotional warmth. By fostering trust with her subjects, she is able to document subtle expressions and personal moments that reflect the depth of individual experience.

Moving forward, Laius aims to continue exploring the interplay between portrait photography and installation, creating environments where emotion, space, and human connection meet.
