Aistė Kapačinskė Emerging artist

Artist is based in: Lithuania
Aistė Kapačinskė is a Lithuanian painter whose work delves into existential questions and the relationship between the inner and outer worlds. While studying for her Master’s degree at the Vilnius Academy of Arts (2023–2025), she explored the idea of the human inner world as a unique landscape, shaped by experiences and knowledge of the external world. These inner landscapes are connected by the threads of consciousness and subconsciousness, binding interior entities with the meanings and priorities assigned to them.
Kapačinskė’s creative process is a continuous journey through these landscapes—approaching and receding, each reflecting the other. She draws inspiration from phenomenological philosophy, particularly the writings of Edmund Husserl, which have influenced her approach to art as a way of experiencing and revealing reality rather than explaining or analyzing it. For her, phenomenology is not a scientific method that rejects everyday experience, but a means of deepening and consciously engaging with it, then translating that content into pictorial form.
Her paintings combine personal experience and visible reality, reflecting her belief that artistic creation is not merely a product but a vital process—sometimes as significant as the artwork itself.
